Japan’s $24-billion annual trade with Africa is dwarfed by China’s transactions with the continent totaling $179 billion.

Japan  is determined to use it’s 27-year vehicle with Africa known as the Tokyo International Conference on Aid and Development to emphasise the quality of relationships rather than sheer volume.

Eighty top echelon Japanese business executives will be among about 2,000 Japanese company representatives in Nairobi for the sixth TICAD summit this weekend.

They’ll , they’ll share industry insights into tech, infrastructure, and energy trends with African development partners.

Their collective expertise will be crucial to building sustainable development partnerships in the region.
