Campaigning’s stopped in Kenya ahead of tomorrow’s closely fought election.

Many former political hotheads have become poachers-turned-gamekeepers in their bid to avoid a repeat the deadly violence that marred the poll a decade ago.

Opinion polls are putting President Uhuru Kenyatta and four-time unsuccessful contender Raila Odinga neck-and-neck in Kenya’s election race.

So close is the contest that neither might win an outright victory – necessitating a run off later this month.

Whoever wins will have burning issues to contend with: corruption, a drought, rising cost-of-living and Islamist terrorism.

Much of this unenviable task is taken up by Kenya’s 47 counties, so that is where candidates have been using the final days of the campaign making their strongest play.
