But after its second  emergency committee meeting on the mosquito-borne yellow fever the WHO says because there’s no room for complacency,  the unprecedented vaccination campaign must continue.

Immunization is at the forefront of fighting the yellow fever outbreak in Angola, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Shortage of the vaccine has forced authorities to administer smaller doses.

This has enabled them to reach the targeted 7,7 million people in the DRC in the last 10 days.

Conferring immunity on them for at least one year.

The global stockpile of yellow fever vaccine is currently at six million doses. The WHO expects that number to increase to 20 million doses by December.
