The Somali government says it’s believed to be an inside job.

The International Committee of the Red Cross says armed men entered their compound in Mogadishu last night and took the nurse out through a rear door to a waiting vehicle

The ICRC says its greatly concerned about the safety of their colleague and are in contact with various authorities to try and secure her release.

Deputy Somalia head of the ICRC Daniel O’Malley the nurse works daily to save lives and improve the health of some of Somalia’s most vulnerable people.

Security ministry spokesman Abdiaziz Ali Ibrahim said initial investigations showed one of the security guards of the compound was involved in the kidnapping.
