They were carrying placards proclaiming that a vote for Trump is a vote against African dictatorship.

Bigirwa Moses and Allan Kitonsa were arrested in front of the US embassy in Kampala.

Three of their fellow activists ran off and have evaded the police.

Uganda’s Daily Monitor newspaper says  the activists  belong to the Uganda Young Democrats, a group that says it aims to fight dictatorship in their country.

The five demonstrators tried  to access the embassy grounds to campaign for the Republican candidate but were blocked by security.

They have taken up the cudgels for Trump because he has said he will fight dictatorships across the world.
