Jihadis are adamant their deadly battle to silence freedom of speech rages on despite yesterday’s bloody ending to the two hostage crisis that left three of their French followers dead.

A 25 year old woman terrorist is still at large and French police warn she may be armed and dangerous.

A statement sent to several media outlets by Al-Qaeda in Yemen claims the terrorist group is responsible for the shooting the 12 people at the Charlie Hebdo magazine which it calls revenge for the honour of Prophet Muhammad.

The alleged perpetarators of this act are Said and Cherif Kouachi who claimed allegiance to the group and died in a hail of police bullets on the outskirts of Paris yesterday.

Also in the capital police killed Amedy Koulibaly who’d taken hostages in a Jewish grocer demanding the release of the Kouachis.

His partner Hyatt Boumedienne is still at large.

French police have made contact with the Kouachi brothers who say they want to die as martyrs.

The jihadists are under siege in a small printing shop northeast of Paris and are holding a hostage.

The noose is closing around Cherif and Said Kouachi who evaded France’s biggest manhunt in history for 48 hours after murdering a dozen people in the Paris office of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Ending the siege at Dammartin will be a delicate business.

There are schools nearby and Charles de Gaul international airport that’s closed two runways to arriving aircraft.

Police prevented the brothers, who broke cover this morning stealing a car and engaging in a firefight and car chase, from getting back into Paris.

Now they’ve got to end the security nightmare without further loss of innocent life.

Security forces are hunkering down in the town of Dammartin on the northeastern outskirts of Paris, hoping to get a peaceful end to the siege of two jihadis who gunned down a dozen people in the capital on Wednesday.

A man who was at the print shop where Cherif and Said Kouachi are holed up has spoken about his narrow escape this morning.

The man identified only as Didier told French radio he did not know who was speaking to when he met and shook hands with the Kouachi brothers in Dammartin this morning.

He says they were dressed in black and armed with assault rifles like the special forces.

Only when they told him to leave because they do no kill civilians and to tell the world that they belong to Al Qaeda, did he realise who was dealing with.

Didier says he’ll play the lottery tonight at the end of what it clearly his luckiest day.

As French troops and police search house-to-house for jihadi brothers who mounted a deadly assault on a Paris magazine office, religious leaders have made an unprecedented show of solidarity against terrorism.

Lights on Paris’s iconic Eiffel tower were dimmed last night as a tribute to the 12 people who died in the attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

President Barak Obama visited the French embassy in Washington yesterday to sign the condolences book for the victims of the terror attack on Charlie Hebo.

At the Grand Mosque leaders from the Islamic faith were joined by Jewish, Buddist, Protestant and Catholic counterparts denouncing the extremism that led French- born Muslim brothers Said and Cherif Kouachi to mount their attack on the publication that has regularly offended all of the above religions.

French police sources tell Eyewitness news that access roads to Paris are being closely monitored.

There are fears that two French jihadis of Algerian descent who methodically murdered a dozen people at the offices of a satirical magazine yesterday may be returning to the capital to die in a final suicide attack.

The men were spotted masked and armed this morning at a petrol station an hour northeast of Paris.

Pictures of Cherif and Said Kouachi have been splashed on television screens around the world by French authorities seeking them for yesterday’s militarily polished massacre at the offices of Charlie Hebdo.

They fled the scene in a black Citroen which they crashed and stole a grey Renault.

This morning they were seen north east of Paris where they stole food and petrol.

They are evidently still in full combat readiness.

Police fear they might have opted to end it all with a headline grabbing suicide attack in Paris and are taking precautions to prevent this.

Two brothers suspected of having gunned down 12 people in a jihadi attack on satirical magazine in Paris yesterday have been spotted north east of the capital.

A petrol station owner says they’re armed and driving in a Renault Clio.

There’s been another deadly shooting today in the south of Paris.

Cherif Kouachi, who’s been jailed for sending jihadi fighters from France to Iraq and his brother Said were seen at a petrol station near Villers-Cotteret about halfway between Paris and the champagne city of Rheims where these brothers of Algerian descent come from.

They’re believed to be the masked gunmen who murdered the editor and seven staff of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Their attack also killed a visitor to the magazine, a maintenance worker and two police guarding the premises – one of them was a Muslim.

Police have not confirmed that today’s shooting, that fatally injured a policewoman in the south of Paris is linked to the Charlie Hebdo attack.

France’s biggest security operation in living memory is playing out along the N2 highway heading north east out of Paris.

It is on this route, no more than an hour out of the capital, that police are bent on catching the men they believe killed a dozen people at the offices of a satirical magazine yesterday.

Nearly 36-hours after the polished assassinations at the offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine French police have thrown everything into catching the perpetrators or at least stopping them from returning to the capital for a deadly denouement.

They are focused on French brothers Said and Cherif Kouachi who are of Algerian extract.

Both of these men in their early 30s are known to French security authorities for jihadi activities.

Both have managed to stay at large for a day and a half.

Authorities know they will have to answer tough questions about how the Kouachi brothers were able to carry out the Charlie Hebdo attack.

But for now they’re concentrating on keeping the deadly siblings from staging a lethal repeat performance.

France is at this hour observing a moments silence for the 12 people who died in yesterday’s terror attack on a satirical magazine in Paris.

Even as the bells of Notre Dame cathedral toll mournfully, police are searching for a gunman who killed a policewoman, wounded one of her colleagues and injured a bystander with automatic fire at a metro station in the south of the French capital today.

Flags are flying at half staff across France marking the official day of mourning….

….as authorities search for two brothers of Algerian descent who they believe were the masked gunmen who murdered a dozen people at the offices of the magazine Charlie Hebdo yesterday.

Police warn that Said and Cherif Kouachi, in their early thirties, are armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

They fear the brothers, who delivered pizzas in the north eastern city of Rheims, may have left the country.

This is where one of the brothers Said and Cherif Kouachi lived.

Another suspect 18-year-old Hamyd Mourad turned himself in to police at midnight.

They’re checking on his alibi offered to prove his innocence.
