The world body’s specialist on the deadly tropical bug says the spread between three countries in West Africa happened because containment efforts were stopped too soon when it was mistakenly believed the outbreak was under control.

Health ministers from the region has been told that local leaders have to be brought into the battle to contain the EBOLA outbreak that’s killed 468 people in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

The ministers gathered in Accra heard people trust their chiefs more than they do the health workers looking like aliens in their isolation suits.

The must send EBOLA victims for medical assistance and stop traditional methods of washing the dead before burial which is actually spreading the disease.
