He’s filmed brandishing a knife on grissly television footage with reporters James Foley and Steven Sotloff and aid worker David Haines before they’re beheaded.

There’s no indication from FBI Director James Comey that the man actually carried out the killings.

Specialised technology’s been used to identiy the man who wears a mask and is dressed head-to-toe in black .

His accent indicates he’s British or has spent time there.

Late last month, British Ambassador Peter Westmacott said his country was close to identifying the ISIS militant.
