]]> Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama says last week’s election in Mozambique is flawed but he won’t resort to violence even though he’s become a five-time loser.
The former rebel leader’s opted for dialogue with  Frelimo and says he won’t  resort to violence after early results showed him losing to the ruling party.
At a press conference following the election Afonso Dhlakama promised to negotiate  differences with Frelimo.
Yet again its extended its mandate to rule the  over the country its seized  from  Portuguese rule in 1974, putting former defence minister Filipe Nyusi at the helm.
Frelimo saw off both Dhlakama’s Frelimo and Daviz Simango of the Mozambique Democratic Movement (MDM).
International observers called the vote generally free and peaceful.
Renamo’s undertaking is likely to please foreign donors, diplomats and investors who have been hoping the elections can bury political enmities still lingering from the civil war.
