]]> Madagascar’s authorities assert that  ex president Marc Ravalomanana, who slipped back home a week ago, won’t be deported to South Africa, where he’s been in exile these past five years.

Ravalomanana and his family are being held on the military base at Antsiranana.

Marc Ravolamamana’ being confined to a single room on the military base at what used to be Diego Suarez.

His family who has been stopped from flying home are being accommodated by local officials.

Their special envoy, human rights lawyer Brian Currin says they being treated the way apartheid era authorities might have done.

He’s appealing to African Union Commission chief Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma to intervene to ensure  proper treatment of the ousted president who’s gone home to foster national reconciliation.
