]]> A Former Lord’s Resistance Army leader’s appeared in the dock at the International Criminal Court in the Hague charged with war crimes including rape and murder.

Dominic Ongwen, who was abducted any became a child soldier before rising through the ranks of the Ugandan militia , says he’s a victim not a perpetrator .

Dominic Ongwen, once a feared commander of the Lord’s Resistance Army, told judges in a dramatic outburst on the opening day of his ICC trial that he was one of the people against whom the LRA committed atrocities. In the name of God, he denied all the charges against him.

The trial of is one of the most momentous in the ICC’s 14-year history, and raises difficult questions of responsibility and blame.
