Results continue to trickle in to the election centre in Windhoek.
SWAPO looks like it received fewer votes than in the previous election five years ago.
The party’s information secretary Helmut Angula  says many voters were turned away from polling stations across the country while expecting to cast their votes.
They’re worried this could affect the credibility of the elections.
So they’re demanding that the electoral commission explain this situation and  assure the nation that it will not have a negative impact on the entire process.
Problems with the functioning of hand held scanners verifying voter cards and fingerprints of voters caused huge delays with long queues at polls seen deep into the night on Friday.
