The South African leader completed an official visit to Berlin that included attending the G20 summit.

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s official visit to Germany has  reinforced co-operation between the countries on bilateral and global issues.

The presidency says Ramaphosa emphasized Germany’s critical investment role in South Africa which sustains inclusive economic growth to reduce poverty, unemployment and inequality.

There are more than 600 German companies operating in South Africa, creating more than 100 000 jobs in  this country.

In talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel, Ramaphosa’s undertaken  to energize the South African economy and end corruption.

This argument will be tried at the G20 summit underway in Hamburg. The question is will it find currency with those industrialized countries that have the means to take this bet.

Last year it accommodated more than three-quarters of a million refugees.

Germany has a compelling case for urging G20 colleagues to spread the load.

The gathering in Guangzhou is the second Investing in Africa Forum in which the Chinese government through the China Development Bank brings together representatives of government, business and international organizations.

President Jacob Zuma will talk about investing in agriculture, agribusiness, infrastructure development, manufacturing, trade, tourism and renewable energy.

After attending the G20 summit that wrapped up in Hangzhou yesterday, Zuma called for the strengthening of the World Trade Organization as the principal body to negotiate  trade related matters.

He says industrialization, infrastructure development and intra-Africa trade cutting illicit financial flows are crucial goals for the development of Africa.
