A Guinean woman suspected of having   been infected with the virus, has tested negative for the  hemorrhagic disease that’s killed more than a thousand people in its latest outbreak in West Africa.

Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi says the  suspected Ebola patient who arrived in South Africa A fortnight ago was admitted to hospital running a high fever.
She was more than 36 weeks pregnant.
Motsoaledi’s accused the opposition Democratic Alliance of politicising the suspected Ebola case.

He  called an urgent press conference yesterday in response to a statement made by DA’s Jack Bloom alleging the Guinean woman was being kept in isolation.

Motsoaledia says  Bloom’s statement’s sent the media into a frenzy.

Earlier this week! The minister said his department’s  Africa’s put in place extensive measures for early detection and treatment of Ebola, in case the need arises.

Motsoaledi met with Parliament’s portfolio committee on health in Cape Town on Tuesday to briefed the members on South Africa’s state of preparedness, should the virus enter the country.
