With a renewed warning of the heightened risk of aviation terrorism, British Airways has continued its cancellation of flights to the Egyptian capital until Saturday.

There’s no detail of the terror threat that caused BA to cancel its flights to Cairo since last Saturday.

Egyptian authorities were taken by surprise. This is a blow to their vital tourism business slowly recovering from a wave of terrorist incidents in recent years.

Egyptair has continued flying the Heathrow to Cairo route.

Passengers complain they were poorly informed about the cancellations.

The Foreign Office has updated its travel advisory to British citizens, urging them to avoid all but essential travel to the terror-hit Sinai Peninsula
