The second was his sister, who went through the burial ritual of cleaning his body.

The first known case of Marburg was in Western Uganda a decade ago.

Five years ago, 10 people died of it and one person died in a 2014 outbreak.

Like Ebola, the Marburg virus is transmitted via contact with bodily fluids and fatality rates range from 25 to 80 per cent.
