Roselyn Akombe says that as currently constituted, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission cannot hold a credible election on October 26.

Roselyn Akombe says Kenya’s election commission needs to be courageous and admit that this election as planned cannot meet the basic expectations of a credible election.

Akombe fears the commission will make the same mistakes that it made in the August poll that was overturned by the Supreme Court.

She says she met with extremist responses from most commissioners when she toured the four regions, including Nairobi, most hit by ongoing protests.

The commissioners are keen to have an election even if it is at the cost of the lives of their staff and voters at large.
