It’s issuing a demarche to Washington’s top envoy in Pretoria demanding an explanation of Trump’s crude and and offensive remarks to American lawmakers.

The South African government clearly does not believe the tweet from President Donald Trump denying that he used an obscene term in describing African countries.

Trump hasn’t sent an ambassador to Pretoria so Chargé d’Affaires Jessye Lapenn will be asked to explain the outburst confirmed by a number of Senators present at the meeting.

Her embassy in South Africa’s tweeted that the US deeply respects the people of Africa and values partnerships with them.

It  asserts that there has been no change in its dedication to partners and friends across the continent.
