]]> Reports persist that jailed warlord Charles Taylor is playing a behind-the-scenes role in Liberia’s election.

Frontrunner in that race George Weah’s running mate is Taylor’s ex wife.

However he  insists he’s had not contact with the man who was Liberia’s president for six years until 2003.

George Weah is making his second bid to become Liberia’s president.

He’s now locked into a run-off in November against Vice-President Joseph Boakai.

There have been reports that from his jail in cell in Britain, where he’s serving a 50-year sentence for war crimes and crimes against humanity, Charles Taylor has been contacting supporters in Liberia.

Weah has repeatedly insisted he is not one of them.

Asked is she has spoken to her ex-husband, Weah’s running mate Jewell Taylor says it is time for Liberia to move on.
