Their delegation includes President Muhammadu Buhari and  his Liberian and Ghanaian counterparts, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and John Mahama.

The UN Security Council, the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States have all called on defeated president Yayha Jammmeh immediately to begin the process to step down.

Spains depuypty permanent representative on the council Juan Manuel De Linares, explaining the demarche, says the UN powerhouse did not  discuss any measure that would be taken should Jammeh refuse the entreaties.

Their priority is to support today’s  high-level visit and ensure the mission succeeds.
