The commander says Deputy Prime Minister Mothejoa Metsing is clearly one of the politicians supporting the unconstitutional overthrow bid against Prime Minister Thomas Thabane.
Lieutenant General Maaparankoe Mahoe says military action against the renegade general is the only option because attempts to negotiate have failed.

Prime Minister Thomas Thabane sacked General  Tlali Kamoli who responded by mounting the attempted coup and trying to kill Mahoe.

Thabane who fled his mountain kingdom for some days is being protected in Maseru by South African police.

Kamoli’s has taken to the hills with stolen weapons including artillery, mortars and small arms.

Mahoe says he’s preparing for a military confrontation and will appreciate outside help.
