It’s the tenth visit Ramaphosa has paid to Lesotho as SADC’s facilitator seeking to restore stability to the kingdom after a coup attempt at the end of August.

There’s a distinct pattern developing in Cyril Ramaphosa’s process of smoothing the path to Lesotho’s early elections next February.

His first appointment in Maseru is a call on King Letsie III.

Then he holds consultations with Lesotho’s political and religious actors.

He meets with the College of Chiefs, Non-Governmental sector and the Independent Electoral Commission.

The aim is to hold elections in two month’s time as provided for by SADC leaders and Lesotho political parties meeting in Pretoria in October.
