The three were named as having obstructed agreement between the pro-democracy lobby and council of governance of the country after the military coup unseating President Omar Al Bashir.

Lieutenant General Omar Zain Al Abideen, who heads the political committee of Sudan’s military council is the most senior officer to resign.

He is named as having played a major role in ousted President Omar Al Bashir’s crackdown on protests that left dozens of people dead.

The demonstrators, who have been on the streets since last December, are insisting that remnants of the Al Bashir regime can play no part in the governance of Sudan today.
