The claim’s been made by terror group Al Shabab.

Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Nomaindiya Mfeketo says South Africa’s mission in Kenya, which is also accredited to Somalia has been asked to verify who was killed in an Al Shabab attack.

At least 12 people including four Americans were killed and 27 others wounded when a sicide bomber rammed a vehicle crammed with explosives into an African Union convoy southwest of Mogadishu.

Al Shabab’s military operations spokesman has claimed responsibility for the attack.
