President Salva Kiir says a former army chief of staff he released and deported in now mobilizing for a war against him.

The US Embassy in Juba has banned personnel from moving at night.

Washington’s Charge d’Affaires in South Sudan Michael Morrow says they’re developing new tools to use against those getting in the way of peace.

President Salva Kiir says he was pressured by elders to release former army chief of staff Paul Malong who is now planning all out war against him.

He insists no-one knows Malong better than he does and the recent treachery shows why he needed to be caught and interned.
