The Sudan Professionals Association, which is leading the protests, warned supporters against efforts by the security forces to break up their sit-in that has lasted since December.

They’ve urged sympathizers to join them and keep the pressure on the military brass to make way for civilians.

It seems the hierarchy around Omar Al Bashir recognized he’s become a liability and moved him aside to save themselves.

The brass will face the same pressure as the president.

Determined and articulate protestors, buoyed by the success of their four-month campaign, say they’ll not accept anything but a civilian government.

The question is how far will Sudan’s new rulers be prepared to go to get the people back into line
