]]> Moroccan football fans have gone the rampage in Brussels after their national team qualified for next year’s Football World Cup.

At least 22 Belgian police were injured as water cannon were deployed to disperse the rioters.

Celebrations in Brussels’ Place de la Bourse turned sour when 300 Moroccans began looting shops in the city centre, breaking windows of banks in the area surrounding the stock exchange and setting fire to cars.

Belgium’s Interior Minister Jan  Jambon called the rioting unacceptable and appealed for calm.

Brussels has a large Moroccan community centered in the Molenbeek district.

The riots began after fans celebrated the Moroccan teams defeat of the Ivory Coast securing its place in the Football World Cup for the first time in 20 years.
