Those who could not were slaughtered.

The operation lasted more than three hours.

Hotels were attacked and police station torched.

The town is on the way to the tourist island of Lamu.

It’s the most deadly attack in Kenya since Al Shabab occupied a shopping mall in the capital Nairobi leaving 67 dead.
