Mwah Kibaki was admitted to the Nedcare Sunninghill Hospital when he came here last week accompanied by his doctors.

He was operated upon  almost immediately and his family say he’s jovial and in high spirits.

Nevertheless South Africa doctors say although he has been released from hospital,  the man who ruled Kenya between 2002 and 2013 urgently needs bed rest for at least  one week before he can make the journey back home.
