]]> With thousands of US and British troops fighting the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, the African Union has taken seven months to send a top level delegation to the affected countries.

AU Commission head Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma led a team that visited there last weekend.

They’ve pledged to send 2 000 medical personnel to the region and to call a business summit next month to raise funds to fight the epidemic.

The deaths from Ebola reached 5 000 when AU Commission chief Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma and her team were visiting Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone last weekend.

The AU’s under fire for its tardy response to the medical emergency and the failure to send financial help and medical volunteers.

This when the US ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, who’s visiting the region, berates the international community for praising the size and speed of the British and American response while doing little themselves to fight Ebola.
