There’s global concern that president-elect Donald Trump, who maintains global warming is a Chinese hoax, will make good on his threat to withdraw the US from the Paris Accord.

Investments in renewable energy has  grown rapidly to reach a record level of US$286 billion last year.

It needs to double before the end of this decade and grow further, to more than three times current levels in the 2020s, to support the climate change goals agreed in Paris last year.

Changing economics has been the deciding factor behind speeding up a renewable energy roll-out.

COP 22 is starting to identify  a growing number of projects that will be created simply because they make sense economically.

They’re saying they must press ahead. They cannot wait for one single man assuming a position where he can made good on his threat to junki 20 years of progress on climate change.”
