]]> Nigerian authorities are battening down the hatches after a man died of the Ebola virus in Lagos.

The death toll from the worst outbreak on record of the deadly disease approaches 700 in Nigeria’s neighbours.

The airline that brought Liberian Patrick Sawyer into Nigeria has been suspended.

And the Lagos hospital where he died last week has been closed.

Those who have been in contact with Swayer, who’s sister died of Ebola in Liberia, have been quarantined.

West African airline Asky has stopped flying to Liberia and Sierra Leone amid growing concern about the spread of the deadly haemorrhagic virus.

The UN’s saying the number of people killed by Ebola in West Africa has now reached 672.

They include Sierra Leoneian doctor Sheik Umar Khan who was treating some of the victims.
