That brings to 200 the number of people buried or drowned  after heavy rains this year

There’s a deadly downside to being called the famed land of a thousand hills.

Heavy  downpours experienced in  Rwanda in recent days have brought  lethal landslides in what is the most densely populated country on the continent 

Disaster management ministry representative Philippe Habinshuti says this is worst than in previous years.

Last week, Interior Minister Francis Kaboneka said that residents in areas which the government had identified as high risk had been ordered  to leave or face being forcibly removed.

Heavy rains have caused flooding in regional neighbors Kenya, Uganda and Somalia
