The girl bomb carriers as young as 10 years old are either sacrificed by their Boko Haram parents or kidnapped and forced to do the deadly work.

A trader in Potiskum says he saw the plaited hair and upper part of the torsos of the young suicide bombers yesterday.

In Maidiguri a day earlier a 10 year old suicide bomber killed 19 people.

Last month a ten year old girl escaped and told authorities she had been beaten and threatened by Boko Haram militants who tried to force her to strap on an explosive belt and sacrifice herself.

A suicide bomber disguised as a pupil detonated the bomb concealed in his clothing during the morning roll call at the science school in Potiskum.

It’s increasingly that Nigerian authorities cannot secure the safety of pupils from an organisation that wants to stop boys learning anything but the Koran and to bar girls from schools altogether.

But if they close the institutions, particularly in Yobe state, they’ll be playing into the hands of the terrorists. The name of their organisation means Western education is evil.

Six days ago at least 30 pupils were killed in another attack on a Siite secondary school in Potiskum.

In a separate development, gunmen attacked a prison in central Kogi state and freed 145 inmates.

One inmate died in the prison break.

Authorities won’t identify suspects but the area’s regularly attacked by the terror group Boko Haram.

After the suicide bomb in Potiskum, Muslim Brotherhood members detained two suspects and refused to hand them over to the military.

The crowd began beating these suspects with fists and wooden clubs.

Soldiers fired shots into the air killing a Muslim Brotherhood member.

One suspect turned out to be a policeman, and the crowd finally handed both over to authorities.

120 people were injured in the bombing.
