]]> Joyce Banda, who’s been in self-imposed exile since losing Malawi’s  presidency in the 2014 election, will be arrested if she returns home.

Police has issued an arrest  warrant saying she has a case to answer for abuse of office and money laundering.

Joyce Banda raised eyebrows after becoming Malawi’s President in 2012.

She sold off the presidential jet and the limousines.

He thriftiness did not stop official corruption.

More than R10 billion disappeared from the state coffers during her two years in office.

Investigating this, the fiscal and fraud section at the Malawian police say Banda has some questions to answer about this.

From the United States, where she has been busy with research, Banda said last February she intended returning home to contest the presidential election in 2019.
