]]> Kenya’s electoral commission head Ezra Chiloba has gone on leave three days before the country’s re-run election.

Another member of the commission, Roselyn  Akombe has quit and fled the country fearing for her life.

Ezra Chiloba says everything is in place for Thursday’s election in Kenya.

He’s taken leave, he says, to spend some time with his two-year old son.

Kenya’s opposition’s demanding Chiloba’s resignation.

The commission he heads was criticized by Kenya’s Supreme Court when it overturned the August poll won by Uhuru Kenyatta and ordered a rerun.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has withdrawn as a candidate on October 26.

Commissioner Roselyn Akombe, sheltering in the United States, says the commission is bound to repeat the same mistakes it made in August.
