]]> No organisation’s claimed responsibility for the attack on a restaurant in Burkina Faso that left 20 people dead.

The toll includes two jihadis killed by security authorities.

The attack was carried out by two men on a motorbike.

They fired into the restaurant and then entered and took hostages.

They engaged in a gunfight with security forces through Sunday night.

The restaurant is 200 metres from the hotel where 30 people were killed by terrorists in January last year.

A force of 2 800 soldiers from the region will be deployed throughout the Sahel, including Burkina Faso, later this month to fight jihadis.

That force will supported by France. President Emmanuel Macron is today talking to Burkinabe president Roch Kabore about the attack.
