]]> President Cyril Cyril Ramaphosa leave for Tanzania today where he’ll undertake his first state visit since being elected in May.

He’ll also attend the summit in Tanzania of the 15-nation Southern African Development Community.

Tomorrow’s state visit is at the invitation of Tanzanian President John Magufuli ,

He and his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa will discuss regional, continental and global issues of mutual interest.

They will reaffirm their commitment to cooperating on multilateral affairs.

Ramaphosa will visit Morogoro where 70 Tanzanians died last Sunday when a petrol tanker  exploded.

South Africa has historical ties with this town in eastern Tanzania.

Many ANC cadres in exile were trained at the Solomon Mahlangu academy near there and the party’s first national consultative congress was held there 50 years ago.

]]> President Cyril Ramaphosa heads to Zambia today for a working visit.

He moves on to the Democratic Republic of Congo tomorrow and will attend the inauguration of Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the  weekend.

This is President Cyril Ramaphosa first visit to Zambia since coming to power.

President Edgar Lungu was in Pretoria in March, among the new president’s first visitors.

In addition to bilateral cooperation, the presidents will discuss regional peace and security issues.

Zambia will assume the chair of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security at the summit in Windhoek next week.

President’s Lungu and Ramaphosa will witness the signing of an agreement establishing  a binational commission between Zambia and South Africa.
