The watchdog body is calling for a clean break from Zimbabwe’s abusive past.

Zimbabwe Defence Force  spokesman S.B. Moyo said in a television address last week that they were targeting criminals surrounding then President Robert Mugabe,

Human Rights Watch Southern Africa director Dewa Mavhinga’s urging him to say who has been arrested.

Family of Finance Minister Ignatious Chombo says he’s still being held.

It is believed Education Minister Jonathan Moyo, who was also detained, has been released.

Mavhinga  says due process granting detainees right of access to lawyers and families will mark an end to 37 years of abusive rule and continued rights violatations.
