Austria’s anti immigrant foreign minister says African migrants should be turned away from Europe and placed in mass camps in Libya.

Sebastian Kurz’s call comes as the United Nations describes these camps as the epicenter of child abuse.

Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz was speaking to his German counterpart Sigmar Gabriel who says it’s unrealistic to expect African migrants to be housed  in mass camps.

The UN childrens’ wing UNICEF reports migrants, particularly young children unaccompanied by adults, are beaten and become forced labourers in Libyan camps.

Girls, who are often sexually abused, are treated worse than boys

The report paints a grim picture of conditions in the Libyan camps holding desperate  people waiting to risk their lives crossing the Mediterranean trying to reach Europe.
