A Commonwealth Games athlete’s been tested for – and cleared of – Ebola fever.

International fear grows about the deadly haemorrhagic disease spreading out of West Africa where it’s killed 729 people.

But a White House official says the US Africa summit in Washington will go ahead next week despite the absence of presidents from the affected countries.

Sierra Leoneian cyclist Moses Sesay reported feeling ill when he came to the Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

He was surrounded by hospital staff in anti-contagion suits who kept him isolated for four days.

Sesay eventually competed in the time trial but says he’s now afraid to return home where President Ernest Bai Koroma has declared a state of emergency.

Both he and his Liberian counterpart Ellen Johnson Sirleaf have cancelled their visits to Washington next week for US Africa summit.
