A top Lesotho defence official alleges a general who masterminded an abortive coup in the mountain kingdom at the end of August continues to sabotage efforts to restore peace and stability.

He’s saying the region must take steps to remove Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli.

The defence ministry’s principal secretary Thato Mohasoa accuses Lieutenant General Tlali
Kamoli of harassing rivals and marshalling forces, despite his promise to
relinquish his command.
Mohasoa’s written to Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, who’s the regional facilitator in Lesotho.

He says SADC must use all means at their disposal to get rid of Kamoli who’s followers have assaulted a military commander.

He maintains the renegade general’s claiming he’s still substantive commander of the Lesotho Defence Force and is holding meetings with soldiers about use of resources.
