Cabinet’s discussed and approved the economic stimulus package designed to give flesh to the optimism that accompanied President Cyril Ramaphosa coming into office.

The statement from the executive says the President will brief the media on this package tomorrow.

President Cyril Ramaphosa tipped his hand on the economic stimulus package last Friday when he briefed ambassadors posted  in South Africa.

He spoke of ending the regulatory uncertainty that has hamstrung the country and clearing economic bottlenecks.

He’s after $100 billion in foreign investment into South Africa over the next five years and he’s called a summit of foreign investors in Johannesburg   month to get this moving.

South African investors, whom he sees as the major contributors to the economic stimulus are saying the so-called Ramaphoria he’s inspired needs hard data to overcome the disappointing growth, the  slide into recession and the weaker rand.
